Similar to traditional appliqué, Raw Edge Appliqué is a technique which involves two or more pieces of shaped fabric, combined with embroidery to create a design.
The difference is that raw-edge appliqué does not have a satin border, so the edges of your appliqué are wild and free.
The result adds a new texture and dimension to your appliqué and overall design.
Tip: Your fabric selection will determine the finish of your raw edge appliqué, a loose weave in your fabric will give a frayed and fluffy finish and a tighter weave or felt will give more of a sharp and clean cut edge.
