5 Unique Designs You Didn't Know Were Sweet Pea!

5 unique sweet pea designs blog

With over 2,000 designs, it's easy to miss some Sweet Pea gems! We asked some of the team what designs they think need to be uncovered and gathered a few unique designs you may want to add to your stash...

Moon Phase Runner

A personal favourite and one that I remember finding as a new member of the Sweet Pea team and adding it to my future projects list. I still haven't made it, but who doesn't have a project stash of UFOs and to dos? The embroidered details in this design are what really make it shine, and whenever someone does stitch it out, it is always interesting to see what colours they choose.

Rangoli Inspired Peacock Table Runner

This patchwork runner showcases the beautiful plumage of a peacock creating an almost abstract view when using the right fabrics. The style of art was inspired by rangoli, which uses natural powders to create beautiful works of art. I love the colours we chose, but wouldn't it be brilliant to see someone create a tonal version of this with just one colour?

Mushroom Tissue Holder

We have a few tissue box covers, but this little design is unique in that it is the holder itself! The whimsical mushroom design is such a unique look and we actually only have this tissue holder in our catalogue! Would you like to see more?

Double Diamond Tote Bag

This design originally came as a set with our Double Diamond zipper purse and is an Allison design that can really shine with the right fabrics - in fact, ours literally shined with the use of mylar! This bag features a zipper pocket on the front, as well as a long, roomy open compartment - a great everyday bag.

Gardening Belt

If you like sewing, there's a chance you like gardening too! Slow hobbies are good for the earth and for your soul, so why not whip up an embroidered gardening belt to match? I think this design is perfect for all gardening enthusiasts, whether you have a green thumb or not, and would also make a great gift for owners of veggie gardens and even kids who want to pocket all their garden treasures.

While we highlighted five designs in this blog, there are so many more amazing ITH projects waiting for you in the vaults of Sweet Pea! Do you own something you think more people should have in their pattern stash? Let us know in the comments or share a photo in our Facebook Group - we'd love to see it!
