A sew-along brings together embroidery fans from around the world in making the same design at the same time through our various Facebook groups. Our bag technique sew along is meant to offer more of a challenge, with one sew along bi-monthly.

Mismatch Chunky Patch Handbag

Inspired by the crazy patchwork style, this bag harkens back to a few Sweet Pea designs but takes it to the next level! A simpler bag to create to celebrate stepping into a new year of sew alongs, the key feature of this beautiful design is the embroidered strap
The embroidery on the patches of the bag can be skipped (see our second sample), with the ability to add your own embellishments and stitch a truly unique piece. For the embroidered project, in the 6” x 10” hoop, we used the following:
- 7 complementary fat quarters for the outer blocks of the handbag
- 50cm (20”) x WOF (width of fabric) for the lining
