Sweet Pea's Sew Alongs & Mystery Quilts
A sew-along brings together embroidery fans from around the world in making the same design at the same time through our various Facebook groups. Our Sweet Pea Machine Embroidery Design Sew-Alongs are one of the most fun and exciting parts of our month, with two embroidery design sew alongs running every month and one bag sew along bi-monthly! We also have two mystery quilt sew alongs; a Block of the Week that runs seasonally, and a Block of the Month that goes all year.
Monthly Sew Along
Upgrade your hoop storage with our Embroidery Hoop Hanger! With the ability to make as many panels as you need for the number of hoops you have, or multiple hangers for different size ranges, this design is a great way to have easy access to your hoops.
The hoops are held in place with the front flap attached with velcro or kam snaps to the back panel, with the front of the flaps can be customised to add text (NOTE: our two larger samples use the text function on our machine to show hoop sizes, these are not included in the files). The flaps are added to the back panel while still in the hoop.
Files include five different flap options for the front of the hoop holder, and the text 'Embroidery Hoops'.
This design is a perfect match for our Embroidery Essentials Kit, as well as several other sewing organisation designs we have made in the past.
KISS Sew Along
A cute, practical purse for all your little sewing essentials! Keep it by your machine to keep regularly used tools at hand such as spare bobbins, needles, seam ripper, hoop screwdriver, and applique scissors.
Two inside panels with three pockets each side mean you can fit lots into this little 'tool kit' . The outside panels feature applique with machine embroidery themed redwork. The flap is added to the panel while in the hoop.
This design is a perfect match for our Embroidery Hoop Hanger, as well as several other sewing organisation designs we have made in the past.
Bag Technique Sew Along
Inspired by the crazy patchwork style, this bag harkens back to a few Sweet Pea designs but takes it to the next level! A simpler bag to create to celebrate stepping into a new year of sew alongs, the key feature of this beautiful design is the embroidered strap
The embroidery on the patches of the bag can be skipped (see our second sample), with the ability to add your own embellishments and stitch a truly unique piece.

For the embroidered project, in the 6” x 10” hoop, we used the following:
- 7 complementary fat quarters for the outer blocks of the handbag
- 50cm (20”) x WOF (width of fabric) for the lining
