Go to our April Design: Butterfly Garden HangerA sew-along brings together embroidery fans from around the world in making the same design at the same time through our various Facebook groups. Our Monthly Sew Along is about making the project your own, whether that be through your fabric choices, thread colours, embellishments, or skipping certain steps!
Plus participate in our Facebook group to share your progress with fellow enthusiasts, ask questions, have fun, and have the opportunity to win prizes.

Butterfly Garden Hanger
1 - 30 April
This elegant flag features a stunning snapshot of realistic butterflies searching for nectar. The design looks beautiful on its own, or side-by-side with our other nature flags, like the Hummingbird Hanger or any of our flower flags.
All embroidery - no appliqué. Colour thread chart included to make the butterflies look exactly like their inspiration:
- Monarch
- Buck-Eye
- Tiger Swallowtail
- Pipevine Swallowtail
- Red Admiral
The hanger is constructed from eight blocks made in the hoop and then joined with a sewing machine. The full pattern for the wall hanger/runner is included.
You could also use the individual blocks for other projects like applique on clothing or coasters.
