Fabric Choices for Butterfly Embroidery Designs

Sweet Pea's May sew along in 2020 featured this beautiful Butterfly Table Runner design

We used fabrics from a few different Kaffe Fassett ranges.

Of course, you can let your imagination go wild when picking the fabrics for your butterflies.

Butterflies possess some of the most striking colour displays found in nature. As they fly from flower to flower gathering nectar, their brightly coloured wings seem to shimmer and change colours before your eyes. Some butterflies are predominantly one colour, but many of them have multiple colours. A butterfly's colour can act as camouflage, attract a mate and act as a warning signal.

You can make your butterflies look realistic and get your inspiration from nature or you can throw all caution to the wind and design your own unique looking butterflies.
