This is an applique design cushion and matching stuffed doll which you can make in the 5x7 6x10 8x8 or 9x12 hoop from our collection of machine embroidery applique designs.
The centre block of the cushion is made in the hoop. Then the borders and backing are added with your sewing machine. The full pattern for the cushion is included.
The stuffed doll is made in one hooping requiring hand sewing of the opening only to close it.
These dolls are Russian nesting dolls (known as Matryoshka dolls) are traditionally made from wood in varying sizes that fit inside each other. The term Babushka comes from the Russian word for grandmother, or elderly woman.
